There’s something magical about starting something new. A friend of mine recently decided to finally pursue their passion for writing. They’ve always wanted to be a writer, and now, with space in their life, they’ve committed. At first, they were going to write and publish five days a week—Monday through Friday. Now, I love the enthusiasm. I love seeing people fired up about their passion. But I also love sustainability. So I asked them a simple question: “Can you really do this for 100 days without burning out?” That’s when I introduced them to a concept I believe in deeply: The Power of 100 Days. Whatever you want to do—write, podcast, start a TikTok, run, declutter, create—you need to commit to it for 100 days. Not as a short sprint, but as a focused journey. But here’s the key: My friend? They can write every day. But they now only publish twice a week—every Sunday and Wednesday. That gives them breathing room. It builds consistency without burnout. And it sets clear expectations for their audience and for themselves. This is where so many people get it wrong. They go all in—hard, fast, loud. Think January gym crowds. Everyone’s hyped. “This is my year!” But by mid-February? The momentum’s gone. The routine collapses. The dream stalls out. Why? Because intention without strategy leads to burnout. So if you’ve got a dream, a project, a goal—please hear me: 💥 YES to your passion. 🧠 YES to your motivation. 🚫 NO to unrealistic expectations. You don’t have to do everything all at once. But you do have to show up every day in some way—researching, writing, organizing, building, planning, preparing. Whatever you’re starting, ask yourself:
Don’t keep it all in your head. Don’t rely on motivation alone. Build the momentum on purpose. You only live once. Don’t waste that energy by flaming out too fast. Hey, Reader! You don’t need a perfect plan to get moving. You just need one small win to build momentum. Examples: Clear one email from your inbox. Tidy your desk for 5 minutes. Drink a glass of water before you sit down to work. Small wins create motion. Motion creates progress. —Mark P.S. I’m sharing strategies on Facebook that never make it into these emails.
